CAMOSUN COLLEGE CENTRE FOR HEALTH AND WELLNESS

Interior and exterior ductwork for leading-edge LEED Gold Centre

The Camosun College Centre for Health and Wellness consolidates the college’s health and human services programming to bring students more active learning through hands-on labs, simulation environments, and collaboration spaces. It also contains a Teaching Clinic, providing service to the general public, as well as a Cultural Centre. Before the Centre was opened at Interurban, courses were taught in buildings across Camosun’s Lansdowne campus.

The Centre for Health and Wellness was built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard using energy sustainability strategies, including passive exterior solar shades, high-performance exterior materials to minimize heat loss, and lower air conditioning requirements to decrease energy consumption. It’s sustainable design promotes good air quality — so much so that real trees were installed in the centre’s atrium.

Lewis Sheet Metal completed the interior and exterior ductwork for Camosun’s Centre for Health and Wellness in July of 2019.
