Custom curved exposed ductwork
The nearly 200-seat Boom + Batten brings a blend of casual and fine dining to Greater Victoria.
Inspired by the Pacific Northwest, the menu showcases local ingredients while also showcasing local craftsmanship through the exposed ductwork, giving it a chic industrial appeal. Lewis Sheet Metal used Building Information Modeling to complete the custom curved ductwork that wraps the building’s steel structure in plain sight of sun gazing patrons. The space has been transformed into a modern day case of “form follows function” by blending a utilitarian object such as ducting — an integral part of any kitchen — with steel framing, wood panelling, and floor to ceiling windows.
